The Red Centre

Uluru at the Red Centre

The Red Centre is a large region in the Northern Territory in Australia. It is famous for its vast red sand deserts and iconic rock formations. These features provide a unique outback experience for adventurous travelers. The outback is harsh and remote, yet beautiful, serene, peaceful. The Red Centre is the true heart of Australia. It is not just because of its location. It also embodies what the Australian outback is all about.

Colours of the Red Centre

What we most liked about this remote region was immensely beautiful outback landscape. To us, it was about feeling the connection to the earth that has been in existence for million of years. To thread on the earth that is mostly pristine and barely touched by civilization is quite a privilege.

Sunrise and sunset are particularly magical times when nature paints sky in a myriad of colours.

The red sand desert is covered with soft spinifex grass and kurkara (desert oak). It stretches against the bright blue sky painted with white clouds. This is a typical outback landscape. The Olgas are at the background. The Central Australia desert has its own unique charm and attractiveness.
