Kimberley – an ancient land of wonders

Map of Kimberley

Covering more than 400 square kilometers and spreading over Australia’s entire north-western corner, Kimberley is known for its diverse landscape – from ancient mountain ranges to spectacular coastlines, stunning savannas, woodlands and deserts. This place has a tropical feel with desert flavour. There are pandun and livingstona palms mixed with baob trees and eucalyptus. This is a heaven for many species of birds and some unique animals, which thrive around little flowing creeks and numerous rivers. Many of the creeks flow through the gorges and some form beautiful cascading waterfalls. This is a land of contrast of red rocks, bright blue sky, lush green vegetation and distinct baob trees. Underpopulated, rich in Aboriginal history and culture, full of natural beauty and wonder, Kimberley is waiting to be discovered, marvelled at and enjoyed in all its pristine wilderness and uniqueness.
