Golden Outback is huge. Covering 54% of Western Australia, it is comprised of 4 regions: Gascoyne Murchison in the north, Goldfields in the east, Wheatbelt in the south-west and Esperance in the south. The whole region is rich in history, diverse in landscape, flora and fauna and unique in its natural beauty of rugged rocky outcrops, huge deserts, salty lakes, red earth and hardy plants. Golden Outback attracts me with its remote areas and there will be many trips before we can see all of it.
Gascoyne Murchison region is pristine, remote and unique. It has its own beauty found in vibrant interesting wildflowers, rich red earth, rugged rock formations (including the largest rock in Australia Mount Augustus), wandering cattle and beautiful skies full of stars. This is the place for the lovers of true remote outback.
